Allotment garden association Wienerberg Greening concepts “For Forest” Neighborhood development

The walk begins at the listed Jean-Jaures Hof, which was built in Red Vienna and embodies its characteristic features.

The route to Biotope City takes us past allotment garden settlements, another form of housing in Vienna. Their more than 100-year history and significance is explained during the tour.

Via the Wienerberg recreation area, we reach Biotope City, which is a special neighborhood development in the direction of climate-conscious living. The name of the development says it all: an urban biotope has been created here and is constantly evolving. For this reason, Biotope City has also been one of 9 IBA Vienna (International Building Exhibition) neighborhoods in recent years, where ecological and social sustainability are lived.
